DualSense? DualShock? Aims? PSVR Aim?

Fracked for PSVR is an awesome game that any shooter fan with a PSVR headset should play. Though, you may be wondering what equipment you’ll actually need to play the game.

First off, you will need a PSVR headset because this is a PSVR exclusive game. You can’t play the game without a PlayStation VR headset, at least not right now. There’s a chance that Fracked could release on PCVR or even Oculus Quest at some point in the future, but right now it’s strictly PSVR-only with the developer stating that there are no current plans for other platforms. We’ll see…

Can you use the PSVR Aim controller with Fracked?

No. The PSVR Aim controller is not supported, and there’s a good reason for that. Actually, there are a few good reasons.

While the PSVR Aim controller offers great versatility and accuracy with its dual-stick controls, it wouldn’t really work for Fracked. The reason being that Fracked has players climbing and interacting with the world and it all requires two hands.

Fracked has a unique way of presenting its cover-based shooting. You take cover by grabbing the edge of an object with one hand and then pulling yourself behind, over, and around objects to get into position to shoot or to hide, while you blast the purple zombie-monster-men with the gun in your other hand.

This wouldn’t really work with the PSVR Aim controller. Likewise, the DualShock 4 would offer the same limitations as the PSVR Aim gun, and the PS5 DualSense doesn’t have any of the light-based tracking features that PSVR uses, so that’s out of the question.

You’ll definitely need two PS Move wands to play Fracked on PSVR, and there are no two ways around it. If you don’t have PS Move controllers, you can buy a pair (and a pair is what you’ll need) from Amazon USA or Amazon UK.
